Computers are quickly getting better, and different forms of Internet connection have been made such as ; iPad,  smart phones , interactive surfaces , touch screen computers!
 things such as the roll top laptop and the windows surface , are the latest things to be said to be coming out , this shows how far computer technology has come in the last 50 years!
It is likely over 90 million people and 90% of the world now own a computer, but that is only a calculated prediction.
New computer technology such as smart phones, have changed the way of how people use the Internet! Now people can access the internet simply setting up there WiFi connection or by having 3G connection  soon smart phones will be able to do as much as computers.

The first touchscreen phone (personal communicatorwas the IBM Simon, launched in 1992.
Mitsubishi Electric Corp. where the manufacturer's of the IBM Simon.
The IBM weighed 510g , which is the same weight as 3 and 1/2 iPhone's.
along with computers upgrading every year things such as the mouse and key pad are also being upgraded.

from 1990 to 200 people started to become even more popular and started to be a necessity in a house hold.
An estimated 835 million PCs where sold worldwide between 1981 and 2000...
By this time computers had changed a lot from there past designs.
they where not perfect but they ran fine ; A glitch in a computer in the Washing D.C. air traffic control causes a shutdown of air traffic across the U.S. East Coast January 6, 2000.
On July 8, 1997, Internet traffic records are broken as the NASA website broadcasts images taken by Pathfinder on Mars ; The broadcast generated 46 million hits in one day. In 994 yahoo was founded, Yahoo would quickly expand to become one of the Internet’s most popular search engines.
In 1998 Google opened its first office, which was in California.

The rapid growth of computer networks, there was a need for a faster connection, The first full-duplex Ethernet products, offering up to 20 Mbps, became available in 1992.The 1990s had seen huge changes in the landscape of telecommunications providers and their services such as apple.

What computers where like

Computers before the 1990's where very slow and took there time to load certain things like ; pictures emails and web pages...
It also took very long to start the computer up.
Computers in the 1990's where used mainly to send emails for work and to send personal mail , instead of sending a postcard though the  mail.

At first not many people had a personal computer and where not very comment , UN-like today where nearly every one has a personal computer.

In the 1990's There was not a huge variate of different designs...This is because not many people had a computer, and there was no need to make different designers because the was not many potential customers.

CRT Computers

Before LCD monitors hit the market, CRT monitors were the only option available to consumers for a computer display screen . CRT technology has been around for more than 100 years!A CRT monitor produces an image out of several lines of tiny dots...
CRT computers could be use for very little and in comparison to today's computers , they could do nire to nothing.


Main frame computers
A mainframe is simply a very large computer, Mainframe is an industry term for a large computer.They where manly use by businesses and organisation.
The first computer was made in 1946.
The first computer was called the ENIAC (Electronic-Numerical-Integrator-And Computer).
It was designed by two men named ; John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert, originaly It was made to help people become better at spelling!
